The Shetou Yuemei Liu Family came from Nanjing County, Zhangzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province. The eleventh generation, honored as Tianji Gong, migrated Taiwan in mid-Kangxi Period of the Qing Dynasty. The family first settled in the area of "Damao" (today's Minxiong) Chiayi County, and the twelfth generation, honored as Yi-Chou Gong, migrated again and settled in today's Shetou Yuemei area. Through several generations, Shetou Yuemei Lin Family began to expand its estate in the Japanese Colonial Period and several years later, it reached today's scale. The Yuemei Liu Family Mansion is a structure of 13 wings (seven at the north side and six south side). This asymmetric design is rather interesting. The Yuemei Liu Family Mansion was named the Hall of Fullness. The front hall is the family shrine, enshrining the family ancestors. A large fishpond in a crescent shape sits in front of the family shrine, which is called the Crescent Pond. The structure of the Liu Family Mansion leans against the hills and looks out to the flowing waters. The pond is believed to be a good Fenshui that helped the family to accumulate wealth. The front court before the main hall was used as a rice husk sunning yard during harvest seasons.

Deer World is a deer ranch that has the largest herd of deer in the Changhua area. In the ranch spanning across a land of over 7,000 square meters, over 400 deer in a variety of species are reared in this farm. It is a great place for family outing or school field trip. The largest herd in the ranch is the Formosan Sika Deer. There are over 100 Sika deer in the farm and many more of other species, including sambhar, red elk, American deer, and moose. A wide range of products is also available, including antler alcohol and plasma protein. Frolicking baby deer are the favorite of children. It is a great place to take your children and families for a fun holiday. Deer ecology classes, fresh antler, dear, baby deer, and deer products (antler alcohol, antler products, deer meat, deer meatball) are available in the farm.

Daodong Tutorial Academy was founded in 1857. It is one of the best-preserved old academies in Taiwan. In recent renovations, the pillars and columns have been replaced and the facade restored to the original look. Daodong Academy neighbors Hemei Junior High School and Elementary School. The central hall enshrines Chu Wen-Kung (Chu Hsi) and Kuei Hsing (god of literature), the east wing enshrines the tablets of the contributors for temple renovation, and the west wing enshrines the god of the land. A large section of the log used in the initial construction is also displayed in the garden. The spacious garden is shaded by lush greens; it has become one of the favorite morning and evening exercise grounds for local residents.
