Working from nine to five is not enough to describe the daily life of the store’s female owner. She actually starts working at 3 a.m., long before daybreak, day by day and year by year. She has now a perfect understanding of every step in the process of cooking. “Ox’s tongue cake” and “Chinese steamed bun” are her daily products. Specialties like rice dumplings and moon cakes are only made and sold during their corresponding festival periods in a year.
