There is a valley in Bagua Mountain. With ecological engineering methods, the Department of City and Tourism Development of Changhua County built a "natural ecological park" and reopened it in 2024. The park covers an area of 2.2 hectares and has become a favorite attraction for families and travelers. In addition to a slide with the largest height difference among the parks in Changhua County, it connects some poetic scenic spots such as "Yingri Pond (映日池)", "Yaoyue Pond (邀月池)", "Xiwu Green Slope (夕霧綠坡)", "Sky Mirror (天空之鏡)", "Valley Garden (幽谷綠園)", etc., providing a space to wander, relax and commune with nature.
The main entrance to the park is next to the Visitor Center of the Bagua Mountain Great Buddha Scenic Area. While descending the gentle slope, the first thing that catches the eye is the big green bunny, playfully climbing up the wall to greet and welcome tourists to the parent-child discovery zone.
In the parent-child discovery zone, there are 2 tube slides build upon the existing natural hillside. One is 27 meters long with a slide height difference of 8.5 meters, which is the slide with the largest height difference in Changhua County, and the other is 18 meters long with a slide height difference of 6 meters. In addition to the thrill of speed from the slides, the zone gives children diverse sensation through various facilities such as climbing walls, climbing nets, balance beam, etc. to strength their physical fitness and increase the fun of adventure.
Another entrance of the park is at Skywalk Entrance No. 2 along Guashan Road, where Yingri Pond is located. It is a marble pool with waterlilies, Dutch iris, papyrus and other aquatic plants planted. The sunlight and the flowers are reflected in the polished black marble and the pond. What an amazing picture! Moreover, there is an observation deck for overlooking the beautiful view. Descending the adjacent stairs is a way to enter the park. Along the walkpath, visitors can enjoy the broaden Xiwu Green Slope and tranquil Yaoyue Pond, where various terrestrial and aquatic plants make the fantastic garden landscape.
Walking along the tree lined path, Sky Mirror will come into sight, that shows the changes of tree shadows and sky from different angles, providing a special visual experience. Going deeper will reach the Valley Garden with towering blackboard trees, camphor trees and various flowering trees, presenting charms subject to seasons.
The park retains a quaint cement-built "Zhongle Pavilion (眾樂亭)", which has become a good place for local people to play chess, brew tea, and chat in a comfortable atmosphere.
The "Millennium Plaza (千禧廣場)", located in the park leading to Skywalk Entrance No. 3, is the place where free clinics, blood pressure measurements and other activities often take place. It is also a perfect place for early morning hiking and gatherings.
The Great Buddha of Bagua Mountain is the landmark of Changhua. After overall improvements, redundant artificial facilities were removed from the park, making it more transparent and brighter. In addition, with 3,324 square meters of lawns and approximately 46,000 shrubs newly planted, the ratio of green coverage of the park reaches 75%, allowing diverse natural ecology to propagate and attracting various butterflies, insects, and frogs to inhabit. Natural Ecological Park at Bagua Mountain connects to Guashan Village, Skywalk, Green Camping Place for Learning (綠色環境學習營地), Taiwanese Language Cultural and Creative Park (台語文創意園區) and National Changhua Living Art Center (彰化生活美學館), and has become a new attraction within Mt. Bagua Scenic Area.
