The elegant architecture of the Qingshuiyan Buddhist Monastery, located at No. 1, Qingshuiyan Rd., Qingshui Village, Shetou Township, is classified as a county-class historic landmark. The Monastery enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva of South Seas. A Pagoda of Spring Light and a dragon pond grace the front court. This elegant Zen style architecture is guarded with walls, and many traces of history and nostalgic memories are preserved in the gardens. It is a great place to immerse yourself in the Zen style tranquility. Qingshuiyan Buddhist Monastery was established in 1728. The initial form of the monastery was only a straw hut. Until the Qianlong Period, the abbot Master Juetong and the local gentry raised a fund to build a monastery at the current location. The monastery was renovated in 1758 and 1819. The Changhua County Records named it one of the Changhua Eight Views. In 1884, Imperial College scholar, Xiao Zhen-Ji, and the Provincial College Scholar, Xiao Jin-Jiang, advocated for a renovation of the monastery. After the renovation, the Abbot setup the plaque "Spring of Qingshui". The main hall of Qingshuiyan Buddhist Monastery enshrines the Triratna Buddha- The Buddha of Medicine, Sakyamuni Buddha, and Amitabah Buddha.
