Shi Zhao-lin was born to a scholarly family. Since childhood, with sound knowledge, he had been enthusiastic in collecting antiques, paintings, calligraphy, and art works. In 1991, recommended by Lin Heng-dao, the late historian, he began to operate Chunlin Yatang in the old street. On the pillars of the shops, there are a few pairs of finely carved birds, adding much to the nostalgic feel of the place.
