he estuary of the Tianwei Drainage in Shengang Township Changhua County has a wide spread of beach, which hides a variety of lives, including crabs and shells.
"Oyster Village"
Kezai Village (Oyster Village) of Shengang Township got its name from its oyster industry. Walk westward from Kezai Village along the dikes of the Tianwei Drainage and pass the culvert of the West Coast Expressway; you will arrive at the beach. This area also has the densest population of oyster racks. During low tide, the oyster farmers took rides on various vehicles and get down to the beach to pick oysters. It is quite a fanfare.
Cattle carriage- old farmer's best friend
The one-kilometer beach road is hard and smooth. You see three-wheeled tuk-tuks, trucks, cars, and quite a number of motorcycles zooming through the road, and the slow moving cattle carriages carrying the old farmers strolling on the road. Statistics show that there are less than ten cattle in the village. The old farmers do not know how to operate cars or motorcycles, so they keep their old friends, the cattle, to accompany them through the roads. Slowly, the cattle stroll into the sunset leisurely.
A great place for family outing
During low tide, fiddler crabs begin to swarm. It is great fun to watch the crabs roaming through the beach. There are a variety of activities, like digging shells and wading in the water, suitable for all members in a family. But, do remember to pay attention to the tides. It would be a good idea to just park your car at the shore during high tide and take a stroll in the relaxing sea breezes.
