The Golden Shower Tree, also known as the Golden Chain Tree, drapes Changhua’s land in a shimmering golden coat when the southern winds arrive in early summer. The blossoms, resembling sweet peas or tiny yellow butterflies, hang in long pendulous clusters up to 20 centimeters in length. During the peak season in May and June, these golden chains sway in the breeze, their petals cascading like rain. Set against a deep blue sky and brilliant sunshine, they create one of midsummer’s most enchanting scenes.
Hidden Gems for Flower Viewing:
★Dongluo River Left Bank (Erlin & Xihu Border):
Stretching for approximately 1.5 kilometers from the Sugar Train road-rail bridge to Daima Bridge, this riverside path is lined with nearly 300 Golden Shower trees. When in full bloom, the path is covered in a golden floral carpet. This is a local secret where visitors can stroll through "golden rain" while enjoying the picturesque rural landscape.
★Changhua HSR Station Area (Chasing Trains & Waterways Bike Route):
Along Section 1 of Zhanqu Road near Changhua HSR Station, golden petals scatter across the bikeway, forming a romantic floral path. This unique route features High-Speed Rail, Taiwan Railways, and the "Wufen" sugar trains. It is the perfect spot for couples to cycle or jog, creating golden summer memories.
