This is the oldest Land temple in Lukang that was built as early as Yongzheng 3 (1725) in the Qing dynasty. Lukang in the old days built one Land Temple in each of the five directions: east, west, south, north, middle. At present, only the one in the north has its own independent space and temple while most of the rest have been moved into other temples.
Although Fude Temple is small, it conserves many ancient artifacts, among which a blue dragon white china vase donated by Li Yuan-Long in Qianlong 23 (1758) is of most value. In addition, The front door dividing fan sculpted in Xianfeng wushu year (1858), the wooden rhyming couplet “the goodness and kindness origin from virtue, the decency and intelligence makes real god” in Daoguang renyin year (1842) and the plate written “Grand Temple illuminate ” during the renovation in Guangxu jiashen year (1884) are all precious artifacts.
