Tsung-Huan Hsu was born in Dacheng, Changhua, in 1965.
In addition to functionality, Hsu projects many thoughts and ideas to his works. Each of his hand-kneaded works is an ingenue, filled with the fun of rural Taiwan and his childhood memories. The beef wood in the country, peanuts that grow across the field, frogs in the ditches, and withered trees fallen on the road are all vividly and lively translated into his works. In 2003, he won the Huangsi Award in the 3D category at the 4th Huang Si Art Exhibition. In 2007, he was certified by the “Taiwan Crafts Workshop” of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. In 2011, he was selected as one of the “100 Changhua Elites of the ROC Centenary”. In 2012, he won the bronze prize at the 4th Taiwan International Gold Teapot Prizes. In 2014, he was awarded the 17th Global Fervent for Love of Lives Medal of the Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation.
Pottery House Studio was founded in the 1990s to provide a space for appreciating and making pottery, tasting tea, and inheriting pottery skills. Through kneading clay, people can express their love for nature to give teapots more warmth in addition to their functions and fun.
