With nature as his teacher, Yeh, Chih-Cheng returned to his hometown and began to conduct ceramic production so that ceramic art can cultivate children there and take root in their hearts from childhood. Engaged in ceramic art creation for more than two decades, he established the first firewood kiln in Tianzhong Township, Changhua County. With Tianzhong Kiln as the base, he manifests the simplicity of a rural village with art. In recent years, he has used community construction and huge exhibition center projects to allow a small place like Tianzhong Township to been seen by people.
Tianzhong Kiln Cat Village is a 3-D ceramic cat painting located at Sanmin Community at Tianzhong, Changhua. It is a work created with the collaboration between Yeh, Chih-Cheng, a ceramic artist, and the community. The paintings here are works created with the skills of firing ceramics. They are not only 2-D ceramic paintings on the wall but also 3-D ceramic cats running on the walls. Ceramic cats fired in the kiln are cute, vivid, and lifelike, attracting people’s attention.
