The stunning beach is the perfect spot to view birds, making it a vital habitat for migratory birds returning north. This is the Rou Zong Jiao coast inside Changhua Coastal Industrial Park.
Rou Zong Jiao has become the habitat for Eurasian curlew in Taiwan since a decade ago, and there are currently as many as 3,000 Eurasian curlews in the region. In recent years, large flocks of migratory birds have congregated here in their way back north. According to observations made by Ecologist Dr. Chia-Yang Tsai at Rou Zong Jiao, he has captured spectacular images of more than 15,000 migratory birds (at least 2,000 species) resting and foraging in the area, including Stilts, Scolopacidae, Kentish plover, Sandpiper and red crown jacana etc.
Besides birdwatching, Rou Zong Jiao also offers activities such as collecting shells or fiddler crabs. It is also a great getaway for admiring enchanting coastal scenery and the ocean.
Rou Zong Jiao beach is a very popular scenic destination in Changhua’s Zhangbin Industrial Park. Although the route leading to the beach is not easily identifiable, one can also look up into the sky and follow the row of wind turbines to reach the destination.
