Established during Kangxi in the Qing dynasty. Legend has it that when fenling first came to Lukang, there was an outbreak of plague. The residents went to the temple and were blessed to heal.
Thus, the local Huang family donated a land to build this temple and it has been renovated several times later. During the Japanese Colonization Period while a city planning project went into practice, the temple was tear down despite attempts of mediation because it was situated in the middle of the road. After Taiwan’s restoration, it was rebuilt at the current address. However, it does not look the same way as it was before.
