Jusuni was formerly the Industry Promotion Center of Shetou Township in Changhua County, established by the Township Office in March, 2006 to market agricultural products in the township after the 921 Earthquake.
The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has offered assistance to the Taiwanese hosiery industry through value-added technologies and designs; in order to help the hosiery manufacturers to transform; the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEAIDB) collaborated with ITRI to create the Hosiery Industry Development Center (HIDC) in May 2011. The center not only reduces the manufacturers’ R&D costs but also increases the competitiveness of the SMMEs. In December 2012, MOEAIDB commissioned ITRI to revitalize the HIDC by transforming it into Jusuni, a facility with tourism, marketing and edutainment functions. Utilizing the exhibition and sales facilities in Jusuni, the hosiery industry’s B2B marketing model was expanded to that of B2C. Moreover, local tourism resources such as scenic destinations (Qingshuiyan Temple), tourist factory and specialty agricultural products are also combined for integrated marketing and promotion purposes.
