“Changqing Hiking Trail” can be accessed via the small trail next to Zantian Temple and Puxing Temple in Tianzhong. The small trail is covered by stones containing an unidentified mineral, and the slate stairs that sparkle like diamonds lead straight to the trailhead of Changqing Hiking Trail, which is about 1.3km long. After entering the trailhead, there is a small path on the left with a steeper gradient that can prove to be rather challenging for less experienced hikers. In order to avoid spoiling the forest landscape, there are no fences along the trail, therefore for steeper sections hikers need to hold on to ropes on the side to ensure their safety.
Walking along the trail, one will be greeted by natural sceneries as well as natural ecology such as insects and butterflies. There are three scenic attractions along the trial: star and bird watching station, romantic scenic gazebo and four-season flower trellis. Even before reaching the top of the mountain, hikers will be able to hear the cries of eagles hovering overhead; they can also catch a view of nearby mountain peaks or overlook the magnificent street sceneries of Tianzhong and the pleasant plain landscape below.
