Zhongxingzhuang Village locates at the foot of Mt. Bagua. It was used to be a military dependent village built in 1950 for soldiers and their family members in Qingdao Baoan Brigade under Brigadier General Gao Fangxian. They moved to Taiwan from Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, and stayed in this village permanently. They passed through the years of war, and eventually passed down the spirit of the nation's invincibility and might.

In order to preserve its glorious history, Changhua County Government has been committed to promoting cultural assets of Zhongxinghuang Village and has begun the investigation of its history since 2009. In 2010, the village houses were registered as historical buildings in Changhua County. It is the only military dependent village remained intact in Changhua. Moreover, it was selected by the Ministry of Defense as a Military Dependent Village Cultural Preservation Area in 2012. After that, its registration was revised as Groups of Buildings in 2021. In October 2022, after the completion of the first phase of the square and environment maintenance engineering, the Changhua County Cultural Affairs Bureau launched a rent program involved 4 buildings with a total of 6 units to revitalize the village. Young entrepreneurs got the free shop space, in return, they shall offer public welfare. Combining the surrounding landscape and the local industrial characteristics, the village officially opened for operation with a brand new look in January 2023. The second phase of the whole area restoration engineering is planned to complete in 2025, expecting to stretch the history of the military dependent village longer.
