NATAS Holidays 2018 will be held at the Singapore Expo for 3 days, starting on August 17. To cooperate with the New South Policy of the Tourism Bureau, MOTC, Changhua County is going to participate in the expo with its own booth.
According to the statistics of the Tourism Bureau, MOTC, the number of Singaporean visitors coming to Taiwan has been growing over the past 5 years. In 2017, it reached 425,577. Compared with that in 2013, 364,733, there has been growth of 16.68%.
According to the Director-General Lin Xin-ren of the Taiwan Visitors Association, Singapore Office, Singapore has a population of 4 million people. Last year, 420,000 people visiting Taiwan. In short, one tenth of its people visited Taiwan last year.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Taiwan Visitors Association, Singapore Office. Reminiscing about the new establishment of this office in the Autumn of 1978, there were only 40,000 Singaporeans visiting Taiwan. With efforts of different sectors in Taiwan, the number of Singaporeans visiting Taiwan has been growing. It highlights the importance of Singaporean tourism in the New South Policy.
This year is the key moment for the transformation of Taiwan’s tourism, which is changing from “quantity change” to “quality change.” To cooperate with the “New South Policy”, “Tourism Country Action Plan”, and deepen the “Time for Taiwan” marketing appeals – “quality, features, intelligent, and sustainability”, Changhua County joins forces with the travel agents in the county and collaborates with the J. Wood Garden to participate in the NATAS Holidays 2018. Participating in the Expo, it aims to promote Changhua and touch the hearts of Singaporean visitors.
