The 3rd “500 Bowls Awards” has officially revealed its winners. This year, 462 outstanding diners across Taiwan earned a spot on the coveted list, underscoring the fierce competition nationwide. Changhua County Mayor Wang Hui-Mei proudly congratulated the 25 Changhua establishments that made the cut. Notably, Changhua County secured two of the five establishments received the highest honor of “3 Bowls”. These are “Beimenkou Meatballs (Main/Mingsheng Branch) (北門口肉圓)” in Changhua City and “Beidou Zhan’s Meatballs (北斗肉圓詹)” in Beidou Township, reaffirming Changhua’s status as a culinary powerhouse in Taiwan’s street food scene. Additionally, “Oa-a-lin (蚵ㄚ仁)” and “Lao Dan A Zhang's Meatballs (老担阿璋肉圓)” in Changhua City were recognized once again, achieving the rare feat of being listed for three consecutive years—a “Triple Crown” that showcases the enduring appeal of Changhua’s local flavors. County Mayor Wang praised these achievements as a testament to the county’s unique culinary charm and pride.
County Mayor Wang emphasized that Changhua is not only rich in culinary heritage but also a prime destination for immersive travel. With its blend of historical landmarks and natural attractions, the county offers diverse experiences for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Changhua's distinctive local attraction highlights include: traditional crafts and Old Street tours in Lukang, the horticultural beauty of Tianwei Highway Garden, the ecological experience of oyster harvesting with ox carts in Fangyuan, and the Great Buddha in Mt. Bagua and the trails for Hiking & Touring event. Additionally, Changhua boasts 15 tourism factories and 26 leisure farms, offering hands-on DIY workshops, fruit picking, and rural lifestyle experiences. These attractions allow visitors to savor local delicacies while engaging with the region’s vibrant culture and natural environment.
According to County Mayor Wang, the county government will continue to promote the deep integration of culinary and tourism.
