The 2025 Lukang Dragon Boat Festival - Lukang Small Town Light Festival officially launched on the evening of May 24th with a spectacular lighting ceremony at the Floating Stage on Old Lukang Stream. This year's festival features LINE FRIENDS minini, the beloved IP from the Korean messaging app LINE, in its first large-scale outdoor exhibition in Taiwan. Running until July 27th, the festival brings dazzling light displays to Lukang every evening from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. We invite everyone to visit Lukang, Changhua, during the Dragon Boat Festival, alongside family and friends, to experience the festivities with minini.
Often described as an open-air museum, Lukang is a town steeped in cultural heritage and vibrant traditions. According to the Tourism Administration, Lukang Old Street was Taiwan's most visited attraction in 2024, drawing over 17.3 million tourists and solidifying its reputation as an iconic destination. Additionally, the Lukang Dragon Boat Festival is recognized as one of Taiwan’s top 12 festivals, drawing crowds eager to immerse themselves in its rich historical ambiance.
One of the major draws of this year's event is the irresistible charm of the featured IP, LINE FRIENDS minini. Alongside the light festival, visitors can also enjoy Lukang’s distinctive pedicabs, now featuring specially designed minini-themed trishaws, offering a unique prelude to the upcoming Taiwan Design Expo in Changhua, set for October. Furthermore, the festival includes a "Recommended Lukang Tourism Short Video" contest, where participants can showcase the town’s beauty while competing for exciting prizes such as airline tickets and Lukang accommodation vouchers.
