In marketing premium rice in Taiwan and elevate the country’s agriculture, “Taiwan Rice Heaven – Energetic Tianzhong International Marathon” was launched in 2012, hoping to attract runners from around the country to experience the fragrant aroma of rice, green fields and phytoncide through the vivacious marathon event. By transforming Tianzhong into a friendly, hospitable, and cultural sports capital, the aim is also to market Changhua’s specialty agricultural products and tourism features, in turn attracting tourists. The combination of sports, recreation, and agriculture helps to develop a healthy economy and achieve the goal of sustainable development.

Tianzhong marathon takes runners through diverse sceneries such as old street, canals, countryside, forest trails, and steep slopes. Friendly local residents line the race route to cheer on the runners and offer them supplies, thus Tianzhong has become the most popular, friendly and hospitable town in the hearts of the runners.
Runners rally in Changhua to appreciate the rich culture of Bagua Mountain Mountain, Babao Canal and Changhua Plain, as well as the magnificent landscape and warm hospitality of Tianzhong. The town folks of Tianzhong welcome the runners and guests with the joyous mood of organizing a wedding in an effort to create an international competition with local characteristic. The aim of Changhua County Government and Tianzhong Town Office is to foster local developments and progress.
