“Fishing boat lights of Wangkung” is one of the 8 major scenic views in Changhua, and Changhua County Government has proactively provided assistance to transform Wangkung Fishing Port into a multifunctional fishing port that encompassing fishing industry, recreation and tourism. Started in 2005, “Wangkung Music Festival” combines a series of activities to attract visitors from around the world. In order to generate prosperity in Changhua, revitalize local industries and create the impression of ocean music through the music festival. Furthermore, people from around the country can appreciate the charisma of the fishing port and experience the fun of catching and savoring seafood. Efforts are invested every year to establish Wangkung Music Festival as the most iconic event of its kind in central Taiwan alongside the “Gongliao Rock Festival in north Taiwan, Wangkung Music Festival in Mid-Taiwan, and Kenting Spring Scream in southern Taiwan.

The pray for blessing parade is conducted at the religious center of Wangkung – Fuhai Temple, where a series of prayers for blessing and cultural activities are organized along with the “Discover Wangkung Parade” to portray how the name of the region was derived.
The fireworks display is complemented by lighting installations at night to illuminate Wangkung. The music festival aspires to become the most iconic event of its kind in central Taiwan alongside the Hohaiyan Gongliao Rock Festival in north Taiwan, Wangkung Music Festival in Mid-Taiwan, and Kenting Spring Scream in southern Taiwan. The music festival aims to promote local tourism by drawing inspiration from the youthful exuberance of summer and a new perspective towards ocean. The event serves to promote local tradition, innovation, seafood, and agricultural products of Changhua in order to revitalize Changhua’s fishery and agriculture.
