Attraction sites特色
In order to preserve Lukang’s traditional culture, the Ku Family upheld the philosophy of “Giving back to the society” and donated the land, residence, furniture, wares and collections of their ancestor in 1973 to form a foundation in creating and managing the unique cultural museum. Grand Lukang Folk Arts Museum-1
Lukang Folk Arts Museum was formerly the family residence of local gentry Hsien-Jung Ku.
Glamorous Lukang Folk Arts Museum-2
The museum is divided into two buildings, including a two-century-old traditional Fujianese building “Gufeng Building” and a nearly century old Baroque-style “Western Building” from the late Renaissance period. The museum houses a collection of more than 6,000 artifacts dating back to the mid-Qing Dynasty and early Republic period. The collection consists of mainly folk wares related to food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, recreation, religious customs, as well as festivities.
Gorgeous Lukang Folk Arts Museum-3
Gufeng Building’s Fujianese architecture consists of 18th century brick and wooden structure. The traditional Fujianese style architecture is archaic and emanates a garden-style residence demeanor, making it the perfect location to appreciate the grandeur of traditional Fujianese garden residence. ※Public information does not include proprietary photo and information of the Ku Family.
