The Shengwang Temple was also called Weihui Temple , and it was built in 1732. The original temple was destroyed in a riot, and was rebuilt in the midst of eighteenth century and renovated in late nineteenth century. This is a temple to commemorate Uan –Kuang Cheng, who came from Honan Province in northern China . He immigrated to Chang Chou, the southern part of Fujian Province , and began the settlement of Han people there in Tang Dynasty. Therefore, he was given the honorable titles as “the Shengwang of Chang Chou” or as “the Shengwang of Mighty Favor(Weihui)”, has been worshipped as the patron god of Chang Chou People ever since.
