The Eagle Hovering Changhua The Bagua Mountain Range in the east side of Changhua County is the winter habitat of immigrating birds. The most famous species among these are Gray-faced Buzzard and Chinese Sparrow Hawks which visits Taiwan in April and March each year. The amount of these two eagles staying here could mount to twenty or thirty thousand! When the eagles hover in group in the air, the scenery is truly spectacular. Bugua Region in March and April has the best time and place for bird-watching, and it also provides a good chance to gain knowledge of bird- protection and habitat-protection.

Ideal Hour for Eagle-Watching:
The ideal Hour for Eagle-Watching is during the rainy days shortly before and after the Tomb-Sweeping Festival. The coming of rain makes thee eagles quickly land on here. The scene of their fast landing is eye-catching, especially when they fly closing on about 300m to 500m above the sea level. On the other hand, it is also quite spectacular a view to see them hovering in the air.

Other birds living in Bagua Region during summer times are: Black-naped Blue Monarch, Chinese Bulbul, Muller's Barbet, sparrows, and Japanese White-eye. The migrating bird in summer is Oriental Cuckoo, and those migrating birds in winter are Brown Shrike, Siberian Blue-tail, Red-flanked Blue-tail, and sulfur rumped flycatcher.
